A LIFETIME PASSION

My parents enrolled me in piano lessons at age 5, and since then, I haven't stopped thinking about music. Years later, after obtaining my Communications degree from Boston College ansd my music degree from SUNY Ulster, I decided to devote myself to teaching others the magic of this amazing instrument, the piano.

WHAT I WISHED I LEARNED

None of my piano teachers ever emphasized music theory. This was a huge mistake, for it prevented me from ever really CONNECTING to the piano. I was able to follow my teachers and play the songs that they had me learn, but I never understood WHY I was playing a certain note or a certain chord. It is my goal to not make this same mistake with my own students.
